Welcome

Welcome to The Spicy Flexitarian, home of Chef Rü’s modern Indian cooking.

I’m Chef Rü, a BBC MasterChef UK finalist, and my food brings together the traditional Indian flavours I grew up with and the techniques I have developed throughout my career.  Inspired by recipes, flavours and traditions passed down through generations, my menus celebrate authentic Indian food with a modern, flexitarian twist. Vegetarian food remains at the heart of The Spicy Flexitarian, complemented by a carefully selected range of chicken and lamb dishes.

From vibrant vegetable dishes and Indian classics to contemporary takes on traditional favourites, everything is prepared with the same focus on authentic flavour, quality ingredients and thoughtful cooking.  Through Chef Rü At Home, you can enjoy freshly prepared dishes for delivery or collection, bringing restaurant-quality Indian food to your table.  Every dish is cooked by me and my team, then carefully blast chilled to preserve its flavour, freshness and quality until you are ready to enjoy it.

“I love the Okra, and I think the way she has balanced the spice…she’s not been shy and its not overpowering either.  The food is really well seasoned, SHE HAS NAILED IT…”

“There’s sweet, there’s sour, there’s heat, there’s crunch.  This is something that has been passed down, there are generations of flavour in here…The flavours, the warmth, the cooking of the rice and the bread…I JUST LOVE IT…”

Only the Best

Using fresh and local ingedients

It is important for me to showcase the best of vegetables and a vegetarian diet.  I take a humble vegetable, give a twist of spice and I create a dish that is nutritionally beneficial and is more environmentally sustainable.

Sourcing my ingredients from the local fruit, veg and farmers markets allows me to adapt my menu regularly throughout the seasons, ensuing the best ingredients are being used at your dinner party.
